Great JEEP item

this is my 2nd steering wheel cover….dont get me wrong , it is great quality , regretfully when i took the JEEP for service one of the technicians in the dealership took it away (for steering aligment) and lost it…thats another story..i got another one (at dealer expense)simply because it is amazing…keeps the steering wheel cool, looks great and gives a sense of sportiness to my JK..get it , you wont regret it!!

I give this four stars because it is pretty thick once you get it stretched over the original. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have small hands. It is comfortable. Seems to be holding up well. Owned it for two/three weeks. Time will tell.

nice reuseable bottle

Very well packed, no problems with shipping.
I bought them for bottling kombucha because I wanted a lined cap (Kombucha is acidic and will rust out any metal it comes in contact with) and a sturdy bottle that wouldn’t leak, blow up with pressure, or take up too much room in the cupboard. These bottles are a little shorter/stockier so I don’t have problems getting them to fit in my oddly small cupboards.
The glass is sturdy, the plastic caps are dense and lined with inert poly so no reactions with my tea.
They have quite a “scientific” look so I always get funny looks while drinking my tea but in this case, function over form.

8 year old headlights look Brand New again…

This product greatly exceeded my expectations. My headlights look brand new again. What a wonderful product!

This kit includes the following:
1 pair of latex gloves
2 pieces of fine sandpaper
Cleaning cloths
Pretreatment
Cleaner / Polish
Shine Restorer / Protector

We own a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition. It has about 100k miles on it and it’s in pretty good condition. However the headlights had become very cloudy and yellow over time. I have tried scrubbing them with various cleaning products and pressure washing and never saw any improvement. I had been considering purchasing a new set of headlights but I figured I would give this product a try first.

The instructions were very simple and easy to follow.

I started off by applying the Pretreatment to each lens and was amazed as the yellow grime melted off of the headlights.

Then I used the fine 1500 grit sandpaper and wet sanded the front of the headlights and this seemed to remove anything that the first step didn’t remove.

Next I applied the Headlight Cleaner / Polish and after completion the headlights looked very clean but they just didn’t have that new car shine.

Finally I applied the Shine Restorer / Protector and instantly saw a huge difference. I ended up putting 4 coats on for the last step and I had to wait 5 minutes in between coats. The whole process took me about an hour total. I also noticed that I have enough product left to clean them again in the future. Each of the bottles is still about half full. I am out of sandpaper but I can get that at any hardware store.

I took a before and after photo of my headlights compared the two and there is a huge difference. They looked pretty disgusting prior to using this product and now they look just about brand new. I would have had to spend several hundred dollars to get a new set of headlights. This product will give almost the same result for a very small fraction of the replacement price. It’s well worth it in my opinion. I highly recommedn this product.

Symtech vs BlueMagic headlight restoration kit comparison

I have used both products, (the BlueMagic for over a year now BlueMagic 725 Headlight Lens Restorer – 8 fl. oz.) and offer these comments for you.
The BlueMagic does work, despite quite a few comments to the contrary. Have used it on several different vehicles 7-9 years old, Nissans and Hondas. Perhaps some of the plexiglass compounds on other vehicles may affect the results. For me the BlueMagic works best when applied to a cotton sock, just by tipping the bottle over the sock and getting the bottle mouth sized glob on the cloth. This amount is about right for a 5″ by 5″ spot. I rub it vigorously for about a minute until it dries at which point I flip the cloth over and use a clean spot to remove any residue. If all goes well (always has for me) you will see a golden yellow discolored spot on the sock. Then move on to a new area of the headlight. After the entire headlight is done, I come back to the first spot and do it again, at some point redoing the process will no longer discolor the cloth, that is when you can stop. End product is a much improved clearness and brightness. This unfortunately lasts only 6-10 weeks for me. Despite the claim that the product prevents re yellowing, the best it really does is slow it down.

When I got the chance to try out the Symtech kit, I jumped right on it. The main reason was the three part treatment. The pre treat de yellowing, the polisher, and the sealer/preservative. Hope is that the preservative will prevent the need for the frequent pretreatments. To start with, the pre treat is more aggressive here than with the BlueMagic. I went about 4 rounds with Symtech before it stopped discoloring the cloth with yellow, vs 2-3 times with BlueMagic. Second, the day after, surface skin on my fingers started to peel, so it is definitively more aggressive and you do need to wear the rubber gloves that come with the kit. The kit includes towelletes, but a sock or a old T shirt work better for me. I then did not do the optional step of sanding the lens with either the 1500 or 2000 grit , and went on with the polisher and the sealer. Altogether about 15 min of work per headlight. Comparing the BlueMagic all in one formula and the 3 times more expensive Symtech, there fortunately IS a difference to justify the price increase. While the color of both lenses was very similar (very little yellow tinge remained), the clarity of the Symtech lens was clearly superior. The BlueMagic lens had a slight opacity and milkiness to it similar to a milk bottle, while that on the Symtech had a sparkly appearance.

I have not waited the six weeks yet evaluate how well the sealer/preservative solution works on the Symtech, but wanted to write this report early to show that it starts off with an advantage. I will update the report in August.

PS. While detailing the car I noticed that Armor All rim cleaner removes a lot of yellow grime from the tires. Aha! I tried the rim cleaner on another discolored headlight lens, and it had the same yellow removing quality. The car paint was not streaked at all from the overspray, but you may want to test yours if you want to try this trick. The end result was a very clear, milky headlight, which I then polished with some polishing compound. The end result was as clear as any specially designed product, but obviously there was no sealant or any preservative in the formula.

11/24 Update. The yellowing is now noticable again. So you are good for about 4 months and then have to re apply.

Better than it was, but definitely not like a brand new headlight…

I received the Symtech Bright Solutions Headlamp Restoration Car Care Kit from the Amazon Vine review program, and I was really looking forward to trying this out. One of the headlights on our PT Cruiser was badly yellowed, and I knew I had to do something with it. After going through the process with this product, it’s better in some ways and worse than others. The yellow is gone, but it’s still hazy with a myriad of scratches…

The first solution did an incredible job of removing a lot of the yellowing. I was very surprised at how much guck this liquid removed, and I almost considered stopping there. I then followed up with the directions involving the sandpaper process. This is not something to be taken lightly. The heavier grit will remove even more hazing and discoloration, but it *will* leave a lot of scratching. The lighter grit is supposed to remove those scratches, but didn’t do as well of a job as I would have liked. The final application of the polish actually accentuated the scratching and hazing, and I would have been better off not to apply it at all given the scratches that remained.

Overall, the light looks better than it did, and there’s better light output. But it’s definitely *not* like brand-new. If you’re using this product, make sure you’re willing to spend a LOT of time and care on the sandpapering, as that is the make-or-break step of the process.

Great Pad! Worth Every Penny!

I used this pad to apply wax with my Porter Cable buffer. This is a better quality pad then Meguiar’s Soft Buff Foam Finishing Pad I bought about a week ago. It glides real smooth, it’s much thicker and the velcro covers the entire backside of the pad. When I cleaned this pad in my sink I noticed it didn’t soak up a lot of wax, unlike the Meguiar’s Soft Buff Foam Finishing Pad. I like this pad so much that I’m going to buy the polishing and light compound pads to replace my other Meguiar’s pads.
